I Want To Be A Good Football Fan

Blog by: Chris Louzader

I’ve just been a baseball girl since I was 10 years old.  But, over the last three years, the excitement of the Kansas City Chiefs Football team has made such an impact, I’ve decided I need to “get with the program” and learn to embrace the game of football.  As their potential historic moment nears the 2025 Super Bowl.  I don’t want to be left out of Chiefs Kingdom.  It’s been very exciting recently and I want to be on the bandwagon, NOT as a fair-weather fan, but legit!

Many of my friends love the game of football and I want to be part of the community!   Luckily, I have the best sports “teacher” around, Don Louzader.  I can ask questions and NOT feel stupid haha!  I know the game of baseball very well and I feel I can pick up football if I open myself up!  There is no better time than this year!

I know there is a rich history and traditions that make football more than just a game.   And, there is nothing like celebrating a victory as a whole region!  I know becoming a fan is a journey … so, I’ll start with questions, pizza and snacks … the rest will fall into place!  GO CHIEFS!

Herb the Cardinal

Kevin…

For the last several years in the winter time Herb the Cardinal shows up in this bush in front of our house. It’s always good to see him. I named him after a parakeet I had when I was a kid. He really stands out with the snowy background and I’m always happy to see him. Some say a cardinal showing up in the winter has meaning. I feel like it’s good luck. My grandma used to say it’s a blast from the past. A loved one who’s passed away stopping by to say hello. People say it’s a sign of perseverance and renewal. Others say hope and abundance, vitality and strength. I don’t know about all that but, he seems to like the bush in front of our house and It makes me happy when he stops by. Hopefully you’ll run into Herb this winter and get a little boost going into the new year.

Remember The Good Ole Snow Days?

Blog by: Chris Louzader

High school snow days were honestly some of the best! It’s like everything hit pause, and for a moment, you got to forget about assignments, tests, and any responsibilities. The thrill started the night before, when the forecast was uncertain, and you were waiting for the local evening news to scroll your school. You’d wait for the local radio station to announce it. The anticipation was beyon!

And then, that magical moment, the announcement: No School Tomorrow! You feel like you’ve won the lottery. You even started calling your friends in excitement, knowing you’re all going to have the same spontaneous day off. There was something special about those snow days in high school. It’s wasn’t just a day off—it was a whole vibe. The joy and excitement could hardy be contained.

You could sleep in! Sometimes it was walking to a friends … watching TV or movies …eating snacks … playing games … sledding. It was just so F U N and full of freedom, even though it was just ONE day!

Isn’t too bad that adults can’t have the same glorious snow days lol?
