The Fall Feels

Blog by: Chris Louzader

Wonder if we’re going to go from this gorgeous “Second Summer”, maybe third Summer now lol … straight to Winter? I so hope not! We’ve had some sprinkling of Fall here and there. If you get a chance to see vibrant fall leaves, snap a photo. Some of the reds and golds have been beautiful, yet not bountiful. I’d like a little crisp air with that scent of fallen leaves and just wearing a cozy sweater before having to go to a full on Winter coat. The days will be shorter soon. Get out and enjoy! Nature’s beauty is in full display, with pumpkins, harvest festivals, and fun.

I just can’t decide if I love Fall or Spring the most. Fall and Spring being both transitional seasons, have a lot to offer. While fall is marked by cooling temperatures, vibrant foliage, and a sense of winding down … Spring brings warming air, blooming flowers, and fresh starts. Can we just rotate! ENJOY!

25 Years Of Boobapaloozas!

Kevin…

The year was 1999. The Y2k scare had everybody on edge. Napster was all the rage. The Matrix was in theaters and Sponge Bob Square Pants debuted on Nickelodeon. 1999 was also the year of the first Boobapalooza breakfast to raise money and awareness to help fight breast cancer here in the Ozarks.

Dave Bauer opened the doors of his restaurant and served up a delicious all you could eat breakfast buffet and the rest is history. Each year is like a reunion for survivors, and a morning to remember those we’ve lost. It’s been an honor for me to be involved with this great event since day one. I’ve met some incredible people over the last 25 years of Boobapaloozas. Hopefully we’ll see you there this year. This Friday, Oct 18th.

$10 gets you an incredible breakfast starting at 7am until 10am. If you can’t stay, you can get a giant breakfast burrito to go. Grab a cup of coffee. Pick up a commemorative Boobapalooza tee shirt. Be inspired by survivors and learn more about what the BCFO does to help women and families here in the Ozarks. 100% of the proceeds go to the BCFO.

FITNESS!

Blog by:  Chris Louzader

The number one excuse for not exercising … Yep, TIME!  A survey found that only 45 percent of adults find the time to exercise 20 minutes a day — that is, exercise vigorously enough to produce an increase in heart rate.

98% of people say you don’t need to go to the gym to get a good workout, and OVER HALF of people NEVER see the inside of a gym.

1/3 of people think doing the dishes OR a load of laundry counts as “exercise.”  36% say taking out the trash counts too.  EVEN doing the dishes count as “EXERCISE” now.

What does this mean for the Summer of Kevin?  You know the event of the year everyone is talking about?  Is everyone talking about it?  Kevin will have a milestone birthday in October and is committed to a healthier lifestyle with exercise, eating better and more water.  I fully support this effort.  But, Kevin, your four workouts in three months … um, it’s not cuttin’ it.   Yes, I firmly think this is not even a real event!  I’ll wait for Kevin to see this and rebuttal-LOL.
