THANK YOU! What a fantastic turnout to Coytoe’s Adobe Cafe to support Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks!

Hundreds enjoyed a delicious breakfast, bought T-shirts and raffle tickets with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks to help those in the fight of breast cancer.

One in eight women and men in the Ozarks will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and every 2-minutes, someone is diagnosed with breast cancer.

My wife suggested we do a food purge at our house before we go grocery shopping again. A friend of hers told her about it at work. You have to eat all the stuff that is left in the cupboard before your next shopping trip. After a quick scan of some of the things we had I told her to count me out.

I did a quick inventory of food stuffs and realized, besides a couple of cans of tuna and a box of scalloped potatoes, most of the stuff we haven’t eaten belongs in the trash. I found a bag of potatoes with scary alien tentacles growing out of them. Some pretty old hot dogs in a baggie and a can of pork and beans that expired in 2014. I guess it’s time for my annual clean out the cupboards and fridge party. Let me know if you want the pork and beans.

Not once but twice did my mom have breast cancer … thank goodness she is doing great!  I am  faithful to getting my annual mammogram. Not long ago I had a scare found in my mammo results.  I was called and told I had to come back in for a deeper test.  As I approached the doors to the breast center … I was walking in … all sorts of thoughts through my head … is this the day my life changes forever, just like mom?  How will I get treatments and work?  How will I handle losing all my hair?  Am I going to die?  I was a lucky one with my follow up being in the clear.  So many are less lucky and we need to help them fight.

Breast cancer awareness is educating individuals about the signs, risks, and importance of early detection of breast cancer. It emphasizes the need for regular screenings, like mammograms, and encourages self-examinations to identify any unusual changes in breast tissue. Awareness campaigns also focus on breaking the stigma around discussing breast health, advocating for increased research funding, and supporting those affected by the disease. By spreading knowledge, these efforts aim to reduce the mortality rate associated with breast cancer and empower people to take proactive steps in their health care.

I’m so excited that 98.7 The Dove is putting a strong focus on October for breast cancer awareness!

“Fauxductivity” is when you make it look like you’re being way more productive than you really are. One in three workers admit to it too!

Some people use a mouse-jiggling app while others just say they worked hours that they really didn’t.

Bosses are even more guilty of fauxductivity too! Or more of them just admit it. 37% of managers say they’re guilty, while 32% non-managers hone up to it.

So why do we do it? Top reasons given are for a better work-life balance, feeling burnt out, not having enough work to do, unrealistic expectations, and wanting to make management happy.
