Recently on The Kevin & Chris In The Morning Show we were talking that even though we’re a restaurant haven there a few we really want in our area!  We have THE BEST local restaurants that are always awesome, yet …

Kevin would love A WHITE CASTLE.  His record of burgers eaten is 18!  Don fell in love with IN & OUT BURGER while were in Arizona.  Both great options!!!

But we really need a Cheesecake Factory!  My love is so large that I’m a part of a Facebook book group trying to get one to Springfield lol!  Their menu is a spiral bound book surely to please everyone in your party.  The variety and quality of food is tops.  Their service is impeccable.  Over two Summers, while visiting The Kansas City Plaza, I made it my mission to sample every cheesecake (minus a few that I knew I wouldn’t like).  Yum! 

Till any of these restaurants are in the Springfield area … we can dream! 

For some, it might be great enough to win Olympic gold for you and your country. But Americans and other athletes are now getting paid for winning!

Americans get $37,500 per gold medal, $22,500 per silver, and $15,000 per bronze. Not a bad pay day! Especially for some of our best athletes who’ve taken home several medals!

And in case you were wondering, the gold medals themselves are worth about $950. Silvers are $486, and the bronze will only get you $13. They do all contain metal from the Eiffel Tower too!

A maintenance technician in France stole over half a million dollars’ worth of wine bottles! About 8,000 bottles total, but he didn’t drink a single one. Didn’t sell any either.

When he got caught, he said he just wanted to sit around them and contemplate them all.

Stealing is wrong, but how could you not enjoy the spoils of your thievery?! I guess it’s true what Alfred from Batman said: “Some men just want to watch the world burn.”

We’ve all wondered it and even asked loudly, “Do people even think anymore?!”

We now know that some people really don’t think because it’s inconvenient or hurts them!

A new study says people really dislike mental effort.  The harder people have to think, the more unpleasant they find the experience.  So thinking “hurts,” because it’s so uncomfortable.

Just remember that even if it’s not comfy, thinking is a good thing! Like working out. Your muscles get sore and tired, but it’s good for them.

Have you been watching the Olympics? There have been some memorable events so far this 2024 games. Some things that come to mind, Simone Biles becoming the most decorated gymnast of all time. Katie Ledecky tearing it up in the pool….and don’t forget the pommel horse guy who’s become an internet sensation. Dream team U.S. Basketball is ramping up for a big finish and I’ve been enjoying Snoop Dogg’s coverage as well. Bringing some extra fun to the games.

On The It List we asked what you think are the most memorable events of all time and it came out like this:

1. Miracle on Ice. 1980 U.S. Hockey team. This is the only winter event to make the list and by far the number one pick.

2. Gymnast Keri Strug being carried to the podium by her coach to accept her medals at the ’96 games

3. Mary Lou Retton’s performance in 1984

4. Michael Phelps 8 gold medals in swimming in 2004. Not to mention his crazy diet.

5. The U.S. Basketball Dream Team in 1992.

A new survey finds that parents are spending $586 PER KID on back to school shopping! Yikes!

Parents are spending most of that money on clothing and accessories, then tech gadgets, and lastly, school supplies.

I remember when you weren’t cool unless you had the 100 crayon box, but now kids get teased if they don’t have the newest phone or Jordans!
