I was extremely honored and privileged to be a part of an Honor Flight in October 2022. It turns out my very same flight where I was the media representative … Big Don Louzader was one of the veterans and our own Don Louzader, his guardian. I had no idea what I was in for. I witnessed the most incredible day. A brotherhood and sisterhood like no other.
Veterans hold a special place in the heart of our nation, having dedicated their lives to protecting the freedoms we hold dear. The Honor Flight of the Ozarks is a profound way to show appreciation for their service. This organization is committed to providing veterans, with an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., where they can visit the memorials in their honor. These trips are more than just a journey; they are a deeply emotional and meaningful experience that allows veterans to reflect on their service and connect with fellow servicemen and women. The Honor Flight of the Ozarks embodies the gratitude and respect owed to those who have served, ensuring that their sacrifices are recognized and remembered.
I highly encourage you to support the 98.7 The Dove Honor Flight of the Ozarks radiothon! I also encourage you to think about being a guardian, it will change your life. And, of course do not let a veteran in your life go another day without being on the list for an upcoming Honor Flight of the Ozarks mission.
Can getting a base tan protect you from sun damage? Yes! But also no!
A new study says that a base tan is actually a sign that you already have skin damage, BUT it’s like wearing SPF 4. That’s not a lot.
Dermatologists recommend wearing at least SPF 30.
Kevin…
It’s that time of year. Summer vacation is over and it’s back to school for the kids, teachers, parents and everybody that helps get our kids through school. Every picture from those first days marks the passage of time as the kids grow up. We look back at pictures of ourselves that our parents took of us and we get a bit nostalgic.
As for my kids, Sam is in college and refuses to stand by the tree where the other pictures were taken year after year. I guess I don’t blame him. It’s kids stuff. Lilly obliged Mama with a tree picture this morning before starting the 11th grade. It’s bittersweet. We love to see them grow and thrive but we miss the little kids we once had. One thing I won’t miss is that dang car line!!!
Share your back to school memories and pics on our FB page and…Good luck everybody! Be cool! Stay in School!
As we prepare for 98.7 The Dove’s Honor Flight of the Ozarks Radiothon, we would like to give you an opportunity to recognize a veteran in your life.
Share a picture of a veteran who has made an impact on you and your family and we’ll add them to our Wall of Honor thanks to Gooseberry Creek Fencing. Be sure to include their name and their branch of service.
While Dad might be the only one laughing, “Dad Jokes” are good for everyone! New research says humor can “foster cognitive flexibility, relieve stress, and promote creative problem-solving and resilience in both parents and children.”
Sometimes stupid/slapstick humor is the best. Because laughing is great! Even if you’re embarrassed that you’re laughing at a Dad joke!

Laughing truly IS the best medicine! It relieves stress, boosts your mood and improves your overall well-being. It brings people together in a positive way!
One of my favorite ways to laugh is seeing a great comedian/comedienne. The stand up and improvisation is just so fun. The draw on everyday experiences, social issues, and personal anecdotes is so relatable.
Don and I are seeing Nikki Glaser as and later 2024 seeing Sebastian Maniscalco!
We brought comedy to our weekly TOP 3 PICKS with Don Louzader recently. We were to each pick who we thought it the greatest comedian of all time and battle it out with the listeners voting.
Kevin chose the wild and crazy guy, Steve Martin. Chris chose the hysterical Eddie Murphy. And Don chose the Seinfeld creator, the legend that is Larry David. Don was shut out with Larry David. Eddie Murphy had a very strong showing for Chris. And Kevin came out smelling like a rose with Steve Martin!
However you get your laughs … DO IT! Let’s all take a much-needed break from reality!
You’re lucky if you’ve never had to dump something out or had it confiscated in the TSA line at the airport. All because it was more than three ounces of liquid!
That rule is going away, though. Maybe in 2040! TSA says it has new machines that will let us carry as much liquid as we want. They won’t be ready and everywhere for 16 years, though! Why even tease us with this info?!
I always just drink my rum while I’m waiting in the TSA line so there’s nothing to pour out by the time I get checked! Makes for a much better and relaxing airport experience!
