Every once in a while a cool interview comes way from Hollywood! This time for the new TWISTERS movie I was excited to chat it up with Glen Powell, who I just fell in love with in TOP GUN MAVERICK and also Daisy Edgar-Jones who was so lovely in WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING! Daisy and Glen were super fun and very nice. We chatted up training with the weather service for the film. And, also while filming in Oklahoma’s Tornado Alley we talked of the crazy weather they worked through while filming.
This is a stand-alone film slightly modeled after 1996’s TWISTER that starred Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton. TWISTERS is a current day adrenaline-pumping big-screen thrill ride. This is from the producers behind JURASSIC, BOURNE and INDY JONES with a story by Joseph Kosinski of Top Gun: Maverick fame.
Twisters began to swirl into existence in 2020! Now on the big screen TWISTERS stars the thoughtful Kate (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and the cocky-yet sure Tyler (Glen Powell). There is a great supporting cast as well in Anthony Ramos of HAMILTON fame co-stars as well! There are tributes to the original 1996 with and an updated DOROTHY as well as honoring the late Bill Paxton! Paxton’s son James has a cameo in Twisters.
I just loved the ’96 TWISTER and TWISTERS is certainly a fun popcorn Summertime flick! Let me know what you think!
