Question Marks Are For Questions

People are incorrectly using question marks at an alarming rate!

I don’t care if this makes me sound old.  It has to be said.  Stop using questions marks at the end of statements!

At least once a day, I’ll get a text message saying something like, “I think it’s in Fulton?”  This is not a question, therefore, does not need a question mark.

All I can think of is Ron Burgundy from “Anchorman” when I read these messages.

FUN IN THE SUN

Blog by:  Chris Louzader

With just a raining day today!  What is it about the sun that ignites incredible senses!  Joy, laughter and well-being abound.  We just had a picture-perfect weekend of weather from sunshine to calm winds to low moisture in the air!  I kicked off the weekend with a patio lunch with my Mom and Don Louzader.  Saturday morning had an incredible outdoor workout with two friends!  Spent most to the day at Don’s mini golf tournament (sadly, he finished second)!  And, had some fabulous patio time at home in my backyard paradise.  Sunday – Mother’s Day – picture perfect like she deserves. The kisses from the sun just make a bad mood better!  Fun in the sun is more than just a pastime, it’s a way to enjoy life’s simplest pleasures.  How do you celebrate FUN IN THE SUN?

Spend 67 Minutes Outside For Refreshment

On average, it takes us 67 minutes outside to feel fully refreshed.

Get outside and stay there for at least 67 minutes!  That’s how long a new poll says we feel like we need to be outside to feel fully refreshed.

That means we’re more relaxed, in a better mood, and helps clear our head.  And it’s been really nice out, so get out and enjoy it!

Being couped up inside only increases feeling of depression, anxiousness, and loneliness.  So get outside and feel better!

I always wanted to fly a plane…

Kevin…

…but, I’m scared of heights and nobody in their right mind would ever give me a pilots license. The good news is, I came pretty close over at the Flying Lap. It was super fun! They have racing and flight simulators that give you the feeling like you’re really doing it… without the danger. They also have many cool VR games for you to try. I’m telling you…it was a rush! I almost landed on that darn aircraft carrier. I think I need a little more practice. Can’t wait to do it again.

The Grand opening is Saturday May 11th. You can race your dream car or fly a fighter mission and get into competitions for prizes. The Flying Lap is in the Plaza Shopping Center at 1914 S. Glenstone. Find out more and stay up to date at The Flying Lap Simulation & VR on Facebook. Next time you go in mention the Dove and get 15 minutes of game time for free.

FALL GUY Review – Box Office Buzz

Blog by:  Chris Louzader

Kicking off the Summer Box Office is Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, Hannah Waddingham!  They star in this movie about a stuntman who leaves the movie business and gets drawn back in.  This is loosely inspired by the 1980’s serries that starred Lee Majors.  What a FUN ride!  Wild out of this world story!  Incredible chemistry between Gosling and Blunt.  This is such a love letter from the industry TO THE stunt people!  Incredible flick to just grab a giant popcorn, sit back and enjoy the romp!

FALL GUY did earn the Critics Choice Seal of Distinction! The Critics Choice Seal of distinction is given to new movies receiving a high Critics Choice Ratings score in the weekly voting by the Critics Choice Association.

The talent of Gosling and Blunt does not stop here!  Check out CRAZY, STUPID LOVE with Steve Carell and Emma Stone OR BLUE VALENTINE with Michelle Williams.  Emily Blunt ALSO is a woman of many talents.  Have you seen her in EDGE OF TOMORROW with Tom Cruise OR THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN?…fabulous!

How To Poop On A Plane (If You Must)

It’s one of the single worst situations you could ever find yourself in.  Having to poop on an airplane.

Sometimes holding it isn’t an option, so One Mile At A Time put together this helpful (toot)orial!  Here’s a bit of what it says.

The best time to go is just before they START serving food, for three reasons.

1.  Other passengers will be in their seats, so they don’t miss food and drinks.

2.  The crew won’t be in the galley to hear you PUNISHING that poor toilet.

3.  Once the carts are in the aisles, people CAN’T use the bathroom.  So it’s your best shot at having no one waiting outside.

Other tips:  Flush as soon as you go, and then again when you’re done.  And use a ton of soap when you wash up.  Most planes have foaming soap, which has a stronger scent.  So it almost acts like an air freshener.

Watching Sports Is Good For Your Mental Health

Even with the extreme highs and lows, watching sports is good for our mental health.

Need an excuse to watch the game?  It’s good for your mental health!

New research out of Japan says watching sports activates the reward circuits in our brains that are linked to feelings of pleasure and  happiness.

It’s no substitute for playing sports, but watching them sure does help!  Just make sure not to get too down if your favorites lose.

Cinco de Mayo…

Kevin…

It’s time to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. To me that means eating! Actually that’s how I celebrate just about all holidays, but for this one I’m zoning in on all the great Mexican fare to enjoy. We certainly have our fair share of good Mexican restaurants here in the Ozarks to choose from. I’m curious what your favorite dishes are.

After you’ve ordered your margarita or cerveza, what’s next? Probably chips and salsa. I like to get a big bowl of queso to dip the chip in, but don’t eat too much. you might want to save some room for the main dish. There’s burritos, tacos, enchiladas, a steaming plate of fajitas or a crunchy chalupa. You got your quesadillas and tamales. nachos, chimichangas. taco salad and even Mexican pizza. So many choices!!!

I always go for the combo platter. That way I don’t have to be pinned down to one thing. Instead I’ll pick 3 delicious items. Usually the burrito, taco and enchilada, but if I’m feeling a little crazy I’ll mix it up with a chili relleno or something… and don’t forget the rice and beans. What’s your favorite? Happy Cinco and happy eating!
