Here Are the Lyrics to JVKE’s ‘Golden Hour’

Singer-songwriter JVKE got his first hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated Sept. 10) thanks to his latest single, “Golden Hour.”

“Golden Hour” has popped off on TikTok since its release, and JVKE himself has over 10 million followers on the platform.

If you need to follow along with JVKE’s “Golden Hour,” find the lyrics below:

It was just two lovers
Sittin’ in the car, listening to Blonde
Fallin’ for each other
Pink and orange skies, feelin’ super childish
No Donald Glover
Missed call from my mother
Like, “Where you at tonight?” Got no alibi

I was all alone with the love of my life
She’s got glitter for skin
My radiant beam in the night
I don’t need no light to see you

Shine
It’s your golden hour (oh)
You slow down time
In your golden hour (oh)

We were just two lovers
Feet up on the dash, drivin’ nowhere fast
Burnin’ through the summer
Radio on blast, make the moment last
She got solar power
Minutes feel like hours
She knew she was the baddest, can you even imagine
Fallin’ like I did?

For the love of my life
She’s got glow on her face
A glorious look in her eyes
My angel of light

I was all alone with the love of my life
She’s got glitter for skin
My radiant beam in the night
I don’t need no light to see you

Shine
It’s your golden hour (oh)
You slow down time
In your golden hour (oh)

Here Are the Lyrics to HARDY’s ‘Wait in the Truck’ Feat. Lainey Wilson

HARDY and Lainey Wilson teamed up for a rare murder ballad in country’s modern era.

“You rarely hear songs like this that bring light to heavy situations that people are really scared to talk about,” Wilson told Billboard of the track. “I feel, in my heart, that our job is to sing about the things that people are afraid to talk about. It’s a song that definitely starts a conversation.”

If you need a guide to follow along with the lyrics to HARDY and Lainey Wilson’s “Wait in the Track,” find the lyrics below:

I got turned around in some little town
I’d never been to before
Working my way through a middle of June
Midnight thunderstorm
There was something in the headlights
It stopped me on a dime
Well, she was scared to death
So I said “Climb in” and in she climbed
Oh, yeah

Well, she was bruised and broke from head to toe
With a tear in her blood stained shirt
She didn’t tell the whole truth but she didn’t have to
I knew what had happened to her
I didn’t load her down with questions
That girl had been through enough
I just threw it in drive, looked in those eyes
And I asked her where he was

I don’t know if he’s an angel
‘Cause angels don’t do what he did
He was hellbent to find the man behind
All the whiskey scars I hid
I never thought my day of justice
Would come from a judge under a seat
But I knew right then I’d never get hit again
When he said to me

“Wait in the truck”
“Just wait in the truck”

Well, I knocked and knocked and no one came
So I kicked in his double wide door
I let the hammer drop before he got
To that 12 he was reaching for
I didn’t try to hide my pistol
I didn’t even try to run
I just sat on the porch, smoking one of his cigarettes
And waited for the cops to come

I don’t know if he’s an angel
‘Cause angels don’t do what he did
He was hellbent to find the man behind
All the whiskey scars I hid
I never thought my day of justice
Would come from a judge under a seat
But I knew right then I’d never get hit again
When he said to me

“Wait in the truck”
“Just wait in the truck”
Whoa (oh)
Have mercy on me, Lord
Have mercy on me
Have mercy on me (oh), Lord

It’s been sixty months and she still comes
To see me from time to time
It was worth the price, to see a brighter side
Of the girl I picked up that night
And I might be here forever
It ain’t paradise that’s true
But it’s a whole hell of a lot better
Than the place I sent him to, yeah

(Have mercy, have mercy, have mercy on me)
Wait in the truck (have mercy on me)
Just wait in the truck
(Have mercy, have mercy, have mercy on me)
Wait in the truck (Lord, have mercy)
Just wait in the truck
(Have mercy, have mercy, have mercy on me)
Have mercy on me, Lord
Have mercy on me
(Have mercy, have mercy, have mercy on me)
Have mercy on me, Lord
(Have mercy on me)
(Have mercy, have mercy, have mercy on me)
Wait in the truck
Just wait in the truck
(Have mercy, have mercy, have mercy on me)
Wait in the truck (please, have mercy)
Just wait in the truck (please, have mercy)

Eagles With Vince Gill Announce New Concerts for Hotel California 2023 Tour

Iconic rock group Eagles — Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit, along with Vince Gill — are extending their Hotel California 2023 Tour, with the addition of six new shows.

The tour features the band playing their signature 1976 Hotel California album — which includes classics like the title track as well as “Life in the Fast Lane” and “New Kid in Town” — in its entirety, plus a selection of other Eagles greatest hits.

The new shows find the band making stops in Knoxville, Tenn.; Jacksonville and Tampa, Fla.; Columbia, S.C.; Greensboro, N.C.; and Newark, N.J. A limited number of VIP packages will go on sale Jan. 12, while tickets go on sale Jan. 13.

The tour launches Feb. 19 in Portland, Ore., and runs through April 7 in Newark. The group also has a concert prior to the tour launch, with a show Feb. 17 in Lincoln, Calif.

Country Music Hall of Fame member Gill began playing with the Eagles in 2017, joining the group alongside Deacon Frey, son of late Eagles guitarist Glenn Frey, who died in 2016. Gill’s first performances with the band were a pair of bicoastal festival dates, Classic West and Classic East, in 2017. Deacon Frey left the touring outfit last year.

Hotel California has been certified 26 times multiplatinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, and garnered the band two of their six Grammy Awards, for record of the year (“Hotel California”) and best arrangement for voices (“New Kid in Town”). The band, which formed in 1971, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and received the Kennedy Center Honors in 2016.

The group has also seen success in and has had clear influence on the country music genre, with “Lyin’ Eyes” (sung and co-written by Frey) becoming a top 10 hit on Billboard‘s Hot Country Singles chart in 1975. They also earned four Country Music Association awards nominations for vocal group of the year (1976, 1977, 2008 and 2009), while the 1993 tribute album Common Thread: The Songs of the Eagles (featuring Gill performing on “I Can’t Tell You Why”) won album of the year at the CMA Awards in 1994. The group also won a Grammy in 2008 for best country performance by a duo or group with vocals, for “How Long.”

Manuel Turizo’s ‘La Bachata’ Returns to No. 1 on Billboard Argentina Hot 100 Chart

Manuel Turizo makes his ascent back to No. 1 with “La Bachata.” The tune logs its 15th week atop the Billboard Argentina Hot 100 chart (dated Dec. 31) and sends Argentinian artist La Mosca Tse-Tse’s “Muchachos, Ahora Nos Volvimos a Ilusionar” below the top 10 (at No. 19) after its one-week command.

With 15 weeks at the summit, Turizo’s “La Bachata” ranks third overall since the chart launched in 2018. It trails only Karol G and Nicki Minaj’s “La Tusa,” which led for 25 weeks in 2020, and the 16-week reign of “Entre Nosotros” by the all-star team of Tiago PZK, LIT Killah, Nicki Nicole and Maria Becerra in 2021.

Cris MJ, Duki and Nicki Nicole’s “Marisola,” featuring Standly and Stars Music Chile, holds at No. 2 in its second week. Rosalía’s “Despechá” rebounds to No. 3, while Bizarrap and Quevedo’s “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” climbs 5-4. Plus, Ke Personajes earn their first top five thanks to “Ya No Vuelvas,” their collab with Luck Ra and La K’Onga, which ascends 10-5.

This week, NewJeans takes home the Greatest Gainer honors as “Ditto” soars 88-43. It’s the highest ranking for the K-pop ensemble.

The Hot Shot Debut goes to Gusty Dj and Ecko’s “Session En El Barrio #7” which arrives at No. 58.

Further, Ñengo Flow clocks his third entry on the chart as a soloist thanks to “Gato de Noche,” his second team-up with Bad Bunny, which debuts at No. 63.

Lastly, DJ Alex secures his first visit thanks to “La Traidora,” his first partnership with La Joaqui, at No. 81.

Jannis Noya Makrigiannis, Choir of Young Believers Founder, Dies at 39

Jannis Noya Makrigiannis, the core and founding member of Choir of Young Believers, has died at age 39. The artist’s U.S. label, Ghostly International, confirmed the news Thursday (Jan. 5) and revealed that after struggling with “a short period of illness,” the musician died just before New Year’s Eve.

Makrigiannis formed Choir of Young Believers in Copenhagen, Denmark, with the help of his friends and fellow musicians. By 2007, the group had released its first EP, Burn the Flag, and a year later, the debut album This Is for the White in Your Eyes. The album’s lead single, “Hollow Talk,” gained traction throughout Denmark on radio due to its sync on opening and closing credits of the Danish–Swedish police television series The Bridge.

Following a performance at the 2009 South by Southwest music festival, Choir of Young Believers were signed to Ghostly International, their U.S. label. The label released This Is for the White in Your Eyes in North America on Aug. 18, 2009.

Choir of Young Believers’ most recent album, Holy Smoke, came out on Nov. 4.

“Jannis was a gentle, kind soul, always appreciative of our team helping him to share his art with the world. He always put art first in his process, and as a result, Jannis was often far ahead of the cultural curve,” Ghostly International wrote about the musician in its statement. “His music only seems to get better with time.”
