Cardi B Tells Fans Considering Butt Injections: ‘Don‘t!’

Cardi B hopped on Instagram Live recently to offer her followers some strongly worded advice about plastic surgery.

“In August I got surgery and I removed 95% of my [biopolymers] … if you don’t know what it is, it’s a– shots. It was a really crazy process,” the rapper said, according to People. “All I’m going to say is that if you’re young — if you’re 19, 20, 21 — and sometimes you’re too skinny, and you be like, ‘Oh my god, I don’t have enough fat to put in my a–,’ so you result to a– shots, DON’T!” (The rapper previously opened up to GQ about receiving illegal injections in a basement apartment in Queens for $800.)

“When it comes to BBLs [Brazilian butt lifts], if y’all want advice from me, before you get your BBL done, you have to make sure your blood levels are all right,” she continued. “If a doctor says your blood levels are too low or you have diabetes or whatever, don’t do it.”

Cardi told her 144 million followers that she was addressing the procedure because “a lot of people thought as soon as I gave birth [to baby Wave in Sept. 2021], I got my body done.”

This week, the superstar also used her social media to clap back at a troll who questioned a video of her performing in a backyard at Art Basel, revealing that she was paid a cool million dollars for a 35-minute set at a private party.

Beyonce’s Radio ‘Renaissance’ Continues as ‘Cuff It’ Tops R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay

Beyoncé reasserts her radio dominance on both the R&B/hip-hop and rhythmic formats as “Cuff It” follows the chart-topping success of “Break My Soul” earlier this year. “Cuff It” tops Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart (dated Dec. 10) and ensures the superstar’s first time with multiple No. 1s in the same year for the first time since 2003, as “Break My Soul” reigned for five weeks in August – September.

“Cuff” jumps from No. 3 after it registered a strong 24% weekly increase to 21.7 million in audience that made it the most-heard song on U.S. monitored R&B and hip-hop radio stations in the week ending Dec. 4, according to Luminate. The 4.2 million audience improvement also secures “Cuff” the weekly Greatest Gainer honor among the chart’s 50 songs.

The new champ is Beyoncé’s 10th No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart as a solo artist. Here’s a rundown of Queen Bey’s chart-topping collection on the list:

  • “Crazy in Love,” featuring Jay-Z, four weeks at No. 1, beginning July 19, 2003
  • “Baby Boy,” featuring Sean Paul, five, Sept. 27, 2003
  • “Irreplaceable,” nine, Dec. 2, 2006
  • “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” 12, Nov. 29, 2008
  • “Love on Top,” seven, March 10, 2012
  • “Drunk in Love,” featuring Jay-Z, eight, Feb. 1, 2014
  • “7/11,” five, Feb. 14, 2015
  • “Savage,” Megan Thee Stallion featuring Beyoncé, three, May 23, 2020
  • “Break My Soul,” five, Aug. 6, 2022
  • “Cuff It,” one (to date), Dec. 10, 2022

Plus, as Beyoncé enters the double-digit club with 10 No. 1s on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, she’s the first woman to earn that honor since the chart launched in 1992. Overall, she’s only the fourth member, joining Drake (28), Usher (15) and Lil Wayne (12).

Likewise, “Cuff It” captures the crown on the Rhythmic Airplay chart, where it leaps from No. 4 following an 18% surge in weekly plays that made it the most-played song on U.S. monitored rhythmic radio stations in the week ending Dec. 4. As on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, the swell of activity ensures the chart’s Greatest Gainer honor for the new champ.

With “Cuff It,” Beyoncé pushes her solo career count to 12 No. 1s on Rhythmic Airplay. Here’s a look at the dozen chart-toppers:

  • “’03 Bonnie & Clyde,” Jay-Z featuring Beyoncé, three, Jan. 4, 2003
  • “Crazy in Love,” featuring Jay-Z, one, Aug. 9, 2003
  • “Baby Boy,” featuring Sean Paul, seven, Sept. 27, 2003
  • “Naughty Girl,” one, May 22, 2004
  • “Check on It,” featuring Slim Thug, one, March 4, 2006
  • “Irreplaceable,” seven, Dec. 30, 2006
  • “Sweet Dreams,” one, Nov. 28, 2009
  • “Drunk in Love,” featuring Jay-Z, three, March 1, 2014
  • “Shining,” DJ Khaled featuring Beyoncé & Jay-Z, one, May 13, 2017
  • “Savage,” Megan Thee Stallion featuring Beyoncé, two, May 30, 2020
  • “Break My Soul,” three, Aug. 20, 2022
  • “Cuff It,” one (to date), Dec. 10, 2022

Thanks to the one-two punch of “Soul” and “Cuff,” Beyoncé lands consecutive No. 1 charting singles on Rhythmic Airplay for the first time since “Naughty Girl” and “Check on It” combined forces. Plus, thanks to the same pair, parent album Renaissance is the superstar’s first with multiple chart-toppers at the radio format since Dangerously in Love launched “Crazy in Love,” “Baby Boy” and “Naughty Girl” in 2003-04.

With her now dozen Rhythmic Airplay No. 1s, Beyoncé is now one of seven artists with at least that many. Drake (36) leads the class, followed by Rihanna (17), Chris Brown, Bruno Mars, Usher (13 each) and equals Lil Wayne and The Weeknd’s career marks.

Jerrod Carmichael Set to Host 2023 Golden Globes

Jerrod Carmichael is set to host the 80th Annual Golden Globe Awards. The three-hour telecast will air live coast-to-coast on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT from The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif., on NBC and Peacock.

The 79th Annual Golden Globes wasn’t broadcast in January. In support of boycotts of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) by various media companies, actors and other creatives over a lack of diversity in the organization, NBC declined to televise the show. The HFPA held the presentation privately, with the results announced via press release and on the Golden Globe Awards’ social media pages – a humbling fall-from-grace for a show that was long one of the top-rated and most entertaining awards shows on the awards calendar.

Related

The crisis stemmed from a report in The Los Angeles Times that revealed that the organization didn’t include a single Black voting member. The organization has since made efforts to boost the diversity of its voting body. The upcoming show’s executive producer, Jesse Collins, and host, Carmichael, are both Black, in an obvious effort to show that it has gotten the message about the need for diversity. Carmichael will be the show’s first Black host since Shaun Robinson co-hosted the 2007 show.

“We’re so excited to have Jerrod Carmichael host the historic 80th Golden Globe Awards,” Helen Hoehne, president of the HFPA, said in a statement. “His comedic talents have entertained and thrilled audiences while providing thought-provoking moments that are so important in the times we live. Jerrod is the special kind of talent this show calls for to kick off the awards season.”

“Jerrod is a phenomenal talent with a fresh perspective and excellent comedic style,” said Collins, CEO of Jesse Collins Entertainment, who is set to executive produce the show the show with Dionne Harmon, a top executive in his company. “We’re all thrilled to have him host this year’s show.”

The show will be produced by dick clark productions and Jesse Collins Entertainment in association with the HFPA.

Carmichael, Collins and Harmon all won their first Primetime Emmy Awards this year. Carmichael won outstanding writing for a variety special for his HBO special Jerrod Carmichael: Rothaniel. Collins and Harmon both won outstanding variety special (live) as executive producer and co-executive producer, respectively, of The Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show Starring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent.

Carmichael shared his personal coming-out story on Jerrod Carmichael: Rothaniel. He received a second Emmy nomination this year for his hosting debut on Saturday Night Live. The comedian rose to fame in 2014 in the comedy film Neighbors and with his first HBO stand-up special, Love at the Store, directed by Spike Lee. Carmichael went on to co-create, co-write, produce and star in The Carmichael Show, a semi-biographical sitcom that aired on NBC for three seasons starting in 2015. In 2017, Bo Burnham directed his sophomore HBO special, Jerrod Carmichael: 8. Burnham also directed Jerrod Carmichael: Rothaniel, and received an Emmy nod for his efforts.

The Golden Globe Awards is one of the few awards shows that honor both film and television. It long had a reputation as “Hollywood’s party of the year.” The question now is whether, after a scandal that took it off the air for a year, it can regain that status.

Johnny Marks & Owen Bradley Return to No. 1 on Hot 100 Songwriters & Producers Charts

Johnny Marks and Owen Bradley return to No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Songwriters and Hot 100 Producers charts, respectively, thanks to seasonal classics making their annual return to the Billboard Hot 100 (with all charts dated Dec. 10).

Marks rules Hot 100 Songwriters on the strength of three songwriting credits on the latest Hot 100: Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” (No. 3), Burl Ives’ “A Holly Jolly Christmas” (No. 6) and Gene Autry’s “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” (No. 34).

Related

With his 15th week at No. 1, Marks ties Lin-Manuel Miranda for the second-most time spent at the summit since the chart began in 2019. Olivia Rodrigo leads all acts with 22 weeks on top.

With holiday hits annually scaling the Hot 100, Marks has now ruled Hot 100 Songwriters in each of the four most recent Yuletide seasons, starting in December 2019. He died in 1985 at age 75, and became the first artist to posthumously top the chart. He concurrently tops the Holiday Songwriters list, which Billboard launched a week ago.

On the Hot 100 Producers chart, Bradley returns to No. 1 thanks to his production on Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” and Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock” (No. 5).

Similar to Marks, Bradley has topped the producers chart every year since Billboard initiated the producer charts. With his eighth week at No. 1, he ties Finneas for the seventh-most weeks spent at No. 1. Dan Nigro leads all acts with 27 weeks at the helm. Bradley died in 1998 at age 82.

The weekly Hot 100 Songwriters and Hot 100 Producers charts are based on total points accrued by a songwriter and producer, respectively, for each attributed song that appears on the Hot 100; plus, genre-based songwriter and producer charts follow the same methodology based on corresponding “Hot”-named genre charts. As with Billboard’s yearly recaps, multiple writers or producers split points for each song equally (and the dividing of points will lead to occasional ties on rankings).

The full Hot 100 Songwriters and Hot 100 Producers charts, in addition to the full genre rankings, can be found on Billboard.com.

Here’s ‘The News’: Paramore Drops New Song & Horror-Themed Music Video

The endless cycle of bad things happening in the news can be, well, soul crushing, but here’s a scoop that’ll actually brighten your day: Paramore just dropped a new song. The punk-rock trio returned Thursday (Dec. 8) with “The News,” the second single off their upcoming album This Is Why, along with an angst-filled, horror-themed music video.

In the three-minute track, frontwoman Hayley Williams rages against the “exploitative, performative” news circuit constantly occupying her devices, and laments over feeling useless that she can’t do anything to help crises happening miles away from her. Drummer Zac Farro and guitarist Taylor York don’t make an appearance in the music video — which centers on Williams writhing around spookily with iris-less eyeballs and bloody teeth — but their musical presence throughout the raucous new track shouts just as loud as her piercing vocals.

“The News” comes a little more than two months behind “This Is Why,” the lead single and title track of their first album in five years, which is slated for a February release. “It feels like a happy medium between classic Paramore angst and bringing in some influences we’ve always had but never exploited,” Williams said of the song in a statement. “Watching Zac track drums for this one was one of my favorite memories from the studio.”

“Lyrically, it probably explains itself,” she continued. “The 24-hour news cycle is just impossible to comprehend. And I feel a pang of guilt when I unplug to protect my headspace. The common reaction, or non-reaction, seems to be dissociation. Not one of us is innocent of that and who could blame us?”

Leading up to the release of the track, Paramore teased fans by DMing them pieces of the lyrics and even going as far as to mail them parts of the song on CD. In November, the band wrapped up a preliminary leg of its ongoing tour, which will resume in February.

On “The News” release day, the trio appeared on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music 1 Show to chat about the song, with Williams revealing why they chose this moment to explore more political themes in their music. “It started with just the pandemic,” the Nashville native explained. “There was George Floyd, there were all these uprisings, there were marches and protests that we went to. There was a bombing by a conspiracy theorist on Christmas Day in Nashville.”

“It’s like we’re experiencing it from whatever vantage point we’re at, and there’s something to say about it,” she continued. “And I’m hoping, I’m praying and hoping that the perspective and the lyrics that we’re presenting is personal enough and as much with respect to everyone’s specific or potential vantage point that maybe other people can relate to it in some way that we haven’t even intended.”

Metallica’s ‘Lux Æterna’ Launches at No. 1 on Hot Hard Rock Songs Chart

Metallica‘s “Lux Æterna” soars in at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart dated Dec. 10.

Following its Nov. 28 premiere, the track bows with 5.3 million in radio audience, 3.3 million official U.S. streams and 4,000 sold through Dec. 1, according to Luminate.

“Lux” previews 72 Reasons, the band’s 11th studio album, due April 14, 2023.

Related

Metallica previously topped Hot Hard Rock Songs (which began in 2020) for nine weeks starting in July with its 1986 classic “Master of Puppets,” sparked by its synch in Netflix’s Stranger Things.

“Lux” concurrently charges in at No. 2 on Mainstream Rock Airplay, the chart’s best debut since 2006, when Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ “Dani California” also began at No. 2. Metallica ties its highest arrival on the list, matching 2003’s “St. Anger.” The band now boasts 25 top 10s on the tally, dating to its first — “Enter Sandman,” in 1991.

“Lux” also opens at No. 2 on Rock & Alternative Airplay and becomes the group’s first Alternative Airplay entry since 2009 at No. 35.

The track debuts at No. 1 on Hard Rock Digital Song Sales (marking Metallica’s fifth ruler since the chart began in 2007 and second this year following “Puppets” [seven weeks]) and at No. 7 on Hard Rock Streaming Songs.

72 Reasons is Metallica’s first studio album since Hardwired…to Self-Destruct, which debuted as the band’s sixth No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart in December 2016. The group first led with its self-titled set in August 1991; the album spends a 688th week on the Dec. 10-dated survey, the fourth-longest run in the tally’s history, dating to 1956.

Intocable Ties for Most Top 10s on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay Chart

Intocable climbs to a milestone 45 top 10s on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart as “Un Poquito Tuyo” jumps 13-9 on the Dec. 10-dated ranking. The group now ties with Los Tigres del Norte for the most top 10s overall.

“Un Poquito Tuyo” lands in the upper reaches of the chart in its fifth week thanks to a 15% weekly increase in audience impressions earned in the U.S. in the week ending Dec. 4, according to Luminate. The song was released Oct. 14 via Good I Music.

“Un Poquito” is the second single from Intocable’s forthcoming album (release date to be announced), and was written by Carlos Preciado and Ricardo Muñoz. As mentioned, the song advances to the tally’s top region and earns the group its 45th top 10, all spanning four decades, tying with Los Tigres del Norte for the most top 10s since the chart launched in 1994. Here’s the leaderboard:

  • 45, Intocable
  • 45, Los Tigres del Norte
  • 44, Banda El Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga
  • 36, Los Tucanes de Tijuana
  • 35, La Arrolladora Banda el Limón de Rene Camacho
  • 32, Banda MS de Sergio Lizárraga
  • 32, Calibre 50
  • 30, Marco Antonio Solis
  • 28, Conjunto Primavera
  • 24, Vicente Fernandez

The new top 10 arrives just a month after the sextet earned its second top 10 of 2022 through “Más Muerto Que Vivo,” with Matisse (Nov. 5-dated ranking). Previously, “Si Me Duele Que Duela” ruled for two week in July.

Elsewhere, “Un Poquito”climbs 32-26 on the all-genre Latin Airplay chart.

Taylor Swift Goes Full Director Mode in ‘All Too Well’ Behind-the-Scenes Footage: Watch

And … cut. Taylor Swift released her longest directorial project to date last year when she dropped “All Too Well: The Short Film,” a heartbreaking 14-minute music video starring Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien. And now, she’s giving fans a glimpse into how she put the whole thing together.

In a Thursday (Dec. 8) post on Instagram, the 32-year-old pop star shared several minutes of behind-the-scenes footage from her shoot with Sink and O’Brien, who portrayed onscreen the dysfunctional, age-gap relationship Swift describes in her record-setting No. 1 Red (Taylor’s Version) track “All Too Well (10 Minute Version).” In many of the clips, a pony-tailed Swift describes to the actors in detail how they should be feeling in the moment, sometimes trading places with them and tracking their approximate movements for them.

“The first seeds of this short film were planted over ten years ago, and I’ll never forget the behind the scenes moments of the shoot,” she wrote in her caption. “I owe everything to @sadiesink_, Dylan O’Brien, my incredible DP @the_rinayang and my producer @saulysaulysauly.”

Not only does Swift closely direct the video’s two stars, but she also gives specific instructions to its many background extras. In one of the short film’s most meticulously planned scenes, she instructs when exactly the camera should zoom in and out, when exactly an actor should place a birthday cake in front of Sink, and when exactly the Stranger Things star should blow out the candles.

“I also want to say thank you to our wonderful background actors and crew who made this story come to life so naturally,” she added. “I loved every second of it and I will always remember it. All. Too. Well. The behind the scenes footage of ATW the short film is out now!”

Both the “All Too Well” song and short film have become some of the 11-time Grammy winner’s most critically acclaimed projects, with the video winning video of the year at this year’s VMAs. Swift has made appearances at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival to speak about her directorial process, and the short film is eligible for a nomination at next year’s Oscars in the live-action short category.

See Taylor Swift’s post below, and watch the behind-the-scenes video for “All Too Well: The Short Film” above.

Machine Gun Kelly Had a Cooking Disaster Trying to Impress Megan Fox

From hip-hop to pop-punk, acting and now home cooking, Machine Gun Kelly likes to switch it up. Admittedly, his projects don’t always succeed.

The American artist stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday night (Dec. 7) for a glimpse at his recent wins and losses.

First, the wins. MGK won favorite rock artist for second year straight at the 2022 American Music Awards last month, following the March release of Mainstream Sellout, his second-straight Billboard 200 chart leader.

In the losses column, MGK, born Colson Baker, shared a tale of his efforts to cook for his fiancée Megan Fox, who has some very specific dietary requirements. As the story goes, Baker attempted to create gluten-free, coconut-free cinnamon rolls from scratch, and called on his neighbor Michael B. Jordan for some essentials.

Long story short, Fox said the goodies were fine, Baker disagreed and tossed them prematurely, to the chagrin of everyone in the place. He’s a Baker in name only.

Baker’s late-night stint was in support of his starring role in Taurus, Tim Sutton’s feature-length drama that he describes as “semi-autobiographical.” Acting opposite Fox, Baker plays Cole, a character traumatized by incidents from the past but “he’s a good soul who wants to make the right choices.”

In this spirit of sharing, Baker told Kimmel the nickname he was bullied with in fourth grade — “coleslaw.” “You’d be surprised how much that tormented me in my eight-year-old mind.”

MGK recently received his first Grammy nomination, earning a best rock album nod for Mainstream Sellout, he released the title cut for Taurus, and appears in the colorful campaign for Fox’s UN/DN LAQR nail brand.

Watch the late-night interview below.
