BTS Test Toys & Choose Useless Superpowers in New Episode of ‘Run BTS’

BTS dropped a special episode of their variety web series Run BTS on Tuesday (Nov. 29).

In the nearly 40-minute episode, the K-pop idols take turns hosting their own variety segments while their bandmates chime in with commentary via a shared chatroom.

J-Hope kicked off the proceedings with a silly and absurd round of reviewing toys, starting with — ahem — a pooping pink flamingo. (Don’t worry, “If you are eating right now, please stop right now!!!” flashed onscreen as a hilarious warning before the bird did its business on the accompanying toy toilet.)

“I pooped, I pooped,” the flamingo chirped in its animatronic voice as the boy band members cheered on its, uh, success. Thankfully J-Hope eventually moved on to play with a miniature hair salon, a magic vase that grows a flower when you add water and a child’s play washing machine — though the flamingo stuck around as Hobi’s mascot for the remainder of his segment.

After watching V nearly hit a 300-meter drive in a game of virtual golf, RM took over to host a rapid-fire game of “Ideal Type World Cup,” in which he chose between random, useless superpowers with help from his fellow Bangtan Boys.

Some of the options included becoming the cutest person in the room in any gathering (“It’s like that even now? That’s not a superpower,” Suga argued hilariously), being invisible for five minutes but people can still see your clothes, and constantly flying seven centimeters above the ground. However, the superpower that eventually won the group’s consensus was the ability to rewind time by seven seconds.

While RM will be unveiling his debut album Indigo on Friday (Dec. 2), Jin is reportedly set to become the first member of BTS to begin his mandatory military service in South Korea next month.

Kanye West & Kim Kardashian Settle Divorce

Nearly two years after Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kanye West after six years of marriage, the former couple’s divorce was finalized on Tuesday (Nov. 29), Billboard can confirm.

Kardashian and West will get joint custody of their four children, plus “equal access” to them, according to TMZ. Additionally, Ye will pay the SKIMS founder $200,000 a month in child support, and is responsible for 50% of the children’s educational and security expenses.

If there is a dispute involving their children, both parties agreed to participate in mediation, per TMZ. However, if one of them does not participate, the other makes the decision by default. The two reportedly have an extensive prenuptial agreement, and dutifully kept their assets split during the marriage, limiting the complexity of the proceedings.

Upon the divorce filing in 2021, both sides initially said that the split would be amicable, but the relationship between the two superstars has turned increasingly tumultuous.

Throughout 2022, Ye had been sharing his disapproval over Kardashian’s parenting decisions, including allowing nine-year-old North to have a TikTok account. He also alleged that Kardashian did not invite the rapper to attend their younger daughter Chicago’s birthday party.

In February 2022, Kardashian responded to Kanye’s in a lengthy all-text Instagram Stories. “Kanye’s constant attacks on me in interviews and on social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create,” she began her message, noting she’s the main provider and caregiver for their kids. “I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision – because it brings her happiness. Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye’s obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all.”

In March 2022, Kardashian was declared legally single.

Future Recruits Travis Scott to Direct ‘712PM’ Video: Watch

Future’s prolific output continues Tuesday (Nov. 29) with the release of his new video “712PM.”

Directed by Travis Scott, the video finds Future arriving on the scene inside a luxe Maybach with a bodacious model alongside him. And when Future isn’t flashing his gaudy jewels inside the club, he’s draped in fur, rapping in front of a torrid ball of fire.

This isn’t the first time Scott has lent his imaginative touch to the “WAIT FOR U” rapper: In September, Scott served as the creative director for Future’s “LOVE YOU BETTER” performance on Jimmy Fallon Live!

This year has proven to be a banner year for Future, who recently covered Billboard’s R&B / Hip-Hop Power Players issue. The cover story explored Future’s wins, most notably his eighth No. 1 album, I NEVER LIKED YOU. Despite his accolades, Future is still looking for more leverage to empower those close to him. “When you have more power, that means you can put other people in positions [of power]. If you have a little power, then the people around you, what kind of power do they have?” he said during the interview. “So you want people around you that are super powerful. You are your company. Progressing and elevating is the key.

He also touched on one day being able to balance a thriving career and successful marriage, saying: “I feel like I can have both. When the time’s right, it’ll happen. It ain’t nothing that I’m really chasing. But I do dream of it, and I do want it.”

Another candid snap, presumably captured by the “Positions” singer, shows her real estate broker beau enjoying breakfast at a diner, dressed in a black LA Dodgers hat and North Face puffer jacket as he sips from a drink and looks off to the side.

Grande is currently in the midst of filming the long-awaited big-screen adaptation of Wicked directed by Jon M. Chu. She’s even dyed her famous locks blonde for the role of Glinda opposite Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba. Bridgerton hunk Jonathan Bailey will play Fiyero, though the rest of the cast has yet to be announced for the two-picture musical saga.

Recently, the singer and her co-star had the chance to get some advice for their trip to Oz from none other than Idina Menzel, who originated the role of Elphaba on Broadway. “Think of all the other little young women or men that are or anybody that are watching them to see what it’s like to be different but be beautiful and to own that,” the Disenchanted actress said she told the duo during a catch-up with E! News.

Just last week, Ari showed off her newly lightened tresses for the release of her first-ever fragrance duo, Mod Blush and Mod Vanilla, which drop Thursday (Dec. 1) on the Ulta Beauty website as part of her growing fragrance and beauty empire.

Danity Kane’s Aubrey O’Day Addresses Photoshopped Instagram Posts: ‘I’m Making Art’

Aubrey O’Day has been sending social media into a frenzy over the past year, often getting accused of allegedly Photoshopping herself into all her luxurious vacation photos on Instagram. Now, the Danity Kane member is setting the record straight.

While joining Tamron Hall on her talk show Tuesday (Nov. 29), the singer cleared up rumors that she’s faking her life. “I am at all of these locations. I look at my Instagram as I’m an artist,” she explained. “I look at my life and pictures as like art that I want to create for the world. You don’t see me on there with my regular friends, my dogs and my home. I don’t belong to the people. I don’t belong to others. My personal life is mine. And that’s the only way that I haven’t gone off the deep end or turned into something that I’m not.”

She continued, “So when you see things like this, if you guys can agree, I’m making art. I’ve been to all these places and after these photos, I do post the videos of how it looked. But in order to get to this place, you have to scale a mountain for about two hours. I don’t have a caboodle of makeup and my wigs.”

The 38-year-old also got candid about her prescription pill addiction. “My entire time in Bali, just to be completely honest, was about getting off of prescription medications that were given to me at 17 years old because this industry promoted me to be my most aspirational self,” she revealed. “When I wasn’t able to be that, doctors were giving me medications and telling me, ‘Take this and take this and then you’ll be aspirational.’ I was taking about, if I’m going to be completely honest, 16 pills a day.”

When Hall asked if she was able to beat the addiction, O’Day replied, “I was able to let go of the chip on my shoulder that was making it impossible for me to be happy in this world, living.”

Execution of Man from Missouri to Continue as Scheduled

A man from the St. Louis area is set to be executed Tuesday following a decision from Governor Mike Parson.

According to a release from the Governor’s Office, Kevin Johnson will be executed by order of the Missouri Supreme Court following multiple appeals.

Prosecutors in the case say Johnson attacked and ambushed law enforcement officer Sergeant Bill McCentee by shooting him seven times in July of 2005.

Investigators say he shot McCentee five times, then approached him and shot him two more times “execution style”.

The full statement from Governor Parson’s office can be read below:

Today, Governor Mike Parson confirmed that the State of Missouri will carry out the sentence of Mr. Kevin Johnson on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, as ordered by the Supreme Court of Missouri.

“Mr. Johnson has received every protection afforded by the Missouri and United States Constitutions, and Mr. Johnson’s conviction and sentence remain for his horrendous and callous crime. The State of Missouri will carry out Mr. Johnson’s sentence according to the Court’s order and deliver justice,” Governor Parson said. “The violent murder of any citizen, let alone a Missouri law enforcement officer, should be met only with the fullest punishment state law allows. Through Mr. Johnson’s own heinous actions, he stole the life of Sergeant McEntee and left a family grieving, a wife widowed, and children fatherless. Clemency will not be granted.”

Mr. Johnson ambushed and shot Sergeant Bill McEntee while he responded to a call in Johnson’s neighborhood. Even though Sergeant McEntee survived the first five shots, Mr. Johnson approached Sergeant McEntee and executed him with two more shots to the head while he was crawling on his hands and knees out of his wrecked squad car. There is not and never has been any doubt about Mr. Johnson’s guilt. Nor has Mr. Johnson’s conviction or sentence ever been reversed on appeal. Mr. Johnson’s case has been reviewed in the state trial court, Missouri Supreme Court, federal district court, Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, and United States Supreme Court.

Lars Ulrich Reveals the Reason Metallica Allowed ‘Stranger Things‘ to Use ’Master of Puppets’

Metallica recently changed their tune on licensing out music, and now, it’s paying off big time. In a Monday (Nov. 28) interview with Howard Stern, Lars Ulrich opened up about how the band’s game-changing collaboration with Stranger Things — which saw one of the show’s most pivotal season four scenes using “Master of Puppets” as a backing track — came to be, from start to finish.

“It used to be, with Metallica, we were always the ‘no’ guys,” Ulrich explained, saying he and his bandmates had never wanted to lend out their songs to TV and film projects until just a couple years ago, when they changed their minds.

“We did a 180,” the drummer shared. “We just said, ‘You know what? This is stupid. Why are we hanging onto these [songs] like they’re so important, like they’re the crown jewels?’ We started saying yes to everything. Let’s share our music with the world.”

After the Netflix sci-fi series heavily featured “Master of Puppets” in its season four finale — during a scene in which Joseph Quinn’s character Eddie epically performs the 1986 track in the Upside Down — Metallica experienced a surge in streams. Nearly four decades out from its original release, “Master of Puppets” made its debut on the Billboard Hot 100, skyrocketing to a peak at No. 35.

“It was such a mindf–k to see how that became a phenomenon,” Ulrich continued. “It was totally unexpected. Who would’ve thought 40 years later that these songs could still have that impact? We were psyched to be part of it.”

This isn’t the first time Metallica has shown love to Stranger Things following the tribute. The band gave its seal of approval four days after the season four finale dropped on Netflix, writing on Instagram that they were “blown away.” And just last month, frontman James Hetfield dressed up as Eddie for Halloween.

Over the summer, Metallica also met up with Quinn for an epic jam session, which Ulrich also talked about with Stern. “He came, we played together, he knew the song,” he raved. “He was such a sweetheart.”

Rivers Cuomo Is Every Band Member In Weezer’s ‘What Happens After You’ Video: Watch

It’s been a win-some, lose-some type of stretch for Weezer. In the “win” column, Rivers Cuomo and Co. are deep into their four-part seasonal offerings, the SZNZ series. And the “loss,” when Weezer’s planned Broadway residency in celebration of those EP cycles was seemingly scrapped due to reported poor box office and sky-high production costs.

With the Broadway dream behind them, Weezer returns to SZNZ: Autumn, and the track “What Happens After You,” which is now visualized with a lo-fi music video.

Peter Quinn directs the clip, which sees a band of Cuomos take over the studio and cut loose.

Each SZNZ EP (pronounced “Seasons”) offers its “own palette of colors, creatures, and emotions to explore.  They’re also being created in real time, made in tandem with the season themselves,” reads a statement.

SpringSummer and Autumn have arrived. Winter is coming. When it does, the final EP in the collection “will create an incredible collection of some of Weezer’s best songs yet, which is no small feat for a band that never leaves the zeitgeist,” reps say.

Weezer kept the seasonal theme running when, during Halloween, the band kicked off its “Weezerween” pumpkin-carving competition, with the lucky winners scoring their “very own billboard somewhere in America.”

SZNZ: Winter is scheduled to drop Dec. 21. U.S. tour dates will follow in early 2023.
