Prosecutors say a woman from Mississippi has been sentenced in Springfield for kidnapping her son at gunpoint.
26-year-old Victoria Brown pleaded guilty in July to charges of kidnapping, assault and burglary.
The judge in the case suspended several sentences, giving Brown a total of three years in prison for armed criminal action and five years of probation for kidnapping, assault and burglary.
Investigators say she admitted to abducting her son in January of 2020. The two were found by authorities shortly after the kidnapping in the Seymour area.
