Kanye West Makes Anti-Semitic Claims & Slams Planned Parenthood in Unaired Footage From Tucker Carlson Interview

Kanye West sat down for a bombshell two-part interview with Tucker Carlson last week, and on Tuesday (Oct. 11), even more footage from the controversial sit-down came to light.

In one clip that Fox News left on the cutting-room floor, shared by Vice, the rapper reveals that he was vaccinated when questioned by Carlson about the COVID-19 pandemic and associated healthcare response. Later in the interview, Ye goes on a tangent about Planned Parenthood, calling founder Margaret Sanger “a known eugenics” (Planned Parenthood has roundly denounced West’s claim that Sanger was a eugenicist) who created the organization “with the KKK to control the Jew population.”

“When I say Jew, I mean the 12 lost tribes of Judah, the blood of Christ, who the people known as the race Black really are,” he went on. “This is who our people are: the blood of Christ. This, as a Christian, is my belief.” (Ye seems to be mixing up his Old Testament stories, given that it’s the 12 tribes of Israel, with Judah being one of the ancient prophet Jacob’s 12 sons.)

Ye’s fixation on Judaism didn’t stop there, though. The rapper also stated, “Think about us judging each other on how white we could talk would be like, you know, a Jewish person judging another Jewish person on how good they danced or something. I mean, that’s probably like a bad example and people are going to get mad at that sh–,” before pausing to add, “I probably want to edit that out.”

The Yeezy designer also brought Hanukkah into the discussion when discussing his four kids with ex-wife Kim Kardashian. “I was biting my tongue on my political opinion because I thought it would be better for my children. And now you look up, and my kids are going to a school that teaches Black kids a complicated Kwanzaa,” he told Carlson, going on to vaguely add, “I prefer my kids knew Hanukkah than Kwanzaa. At least it will come with some financial engineering.” (He’s possibly making reference here to anti-Semitic conspiracies that Jewish businessmen puppeteer the global financial system.)

Elsewhere in the unaired footage, Kanye bizarrely made claims that LVMH — the parent company of Louis Vuitton — “killed” late fashion designer Virgil Abloh, that “professional actors” and “fake children” were put in his house to manipulate and “sexualize [his] kids,” and that the Kardashians “kidnapped” his daughter Chicago on her birthday. (Khloé Kardashian has already hit back at the latter accusation, saying that Kanye was actually the one who requested dual birthday parties for the now-4-year-old.)

Mark Hoppus on Blink-182 Reunion: ‘I Feel Like a Weight Has Been Lifted Off My Shoulders’

Blink-182 are finally getting back together. On Tuesday (Oct. 11) the pop-punk trio announced a reunion with former bandmate Tom DeLonge for an upcoming global tour and single.

While joining After School Radio on Apple Music Hits, the band’s singer/bassist Mark Hoppus shared his excitement over the news. “Yes, it’s happening. Blink-182, world tour, new music, new album. Tom’s back. Man, I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. That was a burden to carry that secret for so long,” he shared.

On keeping that secret, Hoppus also revealed a sweet anecdote from just days ago, when he was asked by a fan when a reunion would happen. “I was at the Dodgers game the other night, and a fan came up. It was a guy and his wife, probably late twenties, early thirties.” the musician recalled. “We take our picture, and he’s like, ‘I love your band. Grew up on your band.’ He’s like, ‘Dude, is there any way, any way at all?’ And I’m like, ‘Any way for what?’ And he’s like, ‘Is there any chance of a Blink-182 reunion tour with Tom back in the band at all?’ And he had such hope and desperation in his eyes, and I just wanted to put my hand on his shoulder and say, ‘My friend, just you wait. Just wait three, four more days.’”

Hoppus jokingly added, “I should have taken his name and should have just posted it on Instagram, been like, ‘This is for you Steve. Great idea.’”

Blink-182’s tour is slated to kick off on March 11 in Tijuana, Mexico at the Imperial GNP festival. They hit North America on May 4 with a show at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota, and those dates will run through a July 16 gig in Nashville at the Bridgestone Arena and then move on to Europe in September and Australia/New Zealand in early 2024.

The group’s new single, “EDGING,” is coming on Friday (Oct. 14), commemorating the trio’s first time in the studio in 10 years.

Bad Bunny Replaces Himself at No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs Chart as ‘Titi Me Pregunto’ Bumps ‘Me Porto Bonito’

Bad Bunny replaces himself at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart as “Titi Me Preguntó” rises from No. 2 (after 20 nonconsecutive weeks in the runner-up slot). It’s the third song from Benito’s No. 1 album Un Verano Sin Ti to top the all-metric tally. It bumps the set’s second No. 1, “Me Porto Bonito,” down to No. 2 after 20 straight weeks on top.

“Titi Me Preguntó” rises to the summit boosted by gains in streams and digital downloads. The song earned 15.3 million U.S. official streams, up 2%, in the U.S. in the tracking week ending Oct. 6, according to Luminate. The track also sold 1,000 downloads, a 4% gain, in the same tracking period. Plus, at radio, “Titi” earned 7.1 million audience impressions, down 1%, earned in the week ending Oct. 9.

“Titi” trades places with “Me Porto Bonito,” with Chencho Corleone, for the No. 1 spot after the latter’s 20 weeks in charge. Who was the last artist to replace himself at No. 1? Well, you’ve guessed it: Benito, when “Moscow Mule” ceded the throne after its one-week reign and “Me Porto Bonito” began its command (May 28-dated survey). Thus, for the last 22 weeks, since the May 21 chart, only songs by Bad Bunny have been No. 1.

Further, as “Titi” lands in the penthouse in its 22nd week, it marks an exceptionally slow climb to the top. Only seven songs, including “Titi” have taken at least 22 weeks to reach No. 1. The slowest trek to the top was tallied by both Marco Antonio Solis’ “Mas Que Tu Amigo” and Azul Azul’s “La Bomba,” when each took a leisurely 32 weeks to No. 1 in 2004 and 2001, respectively.

“Titi” gives Bad Bunny his 12th No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs. He breaks from a tie with Marco Antonio Solis, Ricky Martin, and Shakira for the fourth-most since the chart launched in 1986. Here’s a look at the scoreboard:

27, Enrique Iglesias
16, Luis Miguel
15, Gloria Estefan
12, Bad Bunny
11, Marco Antonio Solis
11, Ricky Martin
11, Shakira

Elsewhere, “Titi” rebounds 16-13 on the overall Billboard Hot 100 chart, after its No. 5 debut and peak in May.

“Titi” is the third single from Benito’s No. 1 album Un Verano Sin Ti. The set continues its No. 1 ruling with 22 weeks (and counting) on Top Latin Albums and 13 weeks on the all-genre Billboard 200 –the most for any Latin album.

MAMAMOO Return With the Commanding ‘Illella’: Watch

While MAMAMOO‘s future seemed uncertain when the K-pop girl group released their I Say Mamamoo: The Best greatest-hits compilation last year, their new single “Illella” proves the quartet is very much still together and coming just as hard as ever.

MAMAMOO returned Tuesday (Oct. 11) with “Illella” as a full-fledged reminder of their commanding vocal deliveries and artistic auras. One of the top K-pop girl groups in terms of recognition and talent, the new track is crafted around an experimental groove (in line with 2019 and 2020 singles like “Aya,” “Dingga” and “Hip”) but still serves powerful belts and sleek harmonies, most notably in the final chorus’ key change. From Solar in a frilly pink dress to Hwasa rocking yarn-emblazoned chaps and a group look inspired by phys-ed uniforms, MAMAMOO get to show a range of colors and styles that feel celebratory of each unique member while still displaying how cohesive they are as a unit.

This fall marks more than eight years together for MAMAMOO, the latest act going strong beyond the traditional seven-year contract for most K-pop groups. Even though member Wheein left MAMAMOO’s record label RBW, the singer remained signed as a member of MAMAMOO and will be until at least December 2023. MAMAMOO’s return with “Illella,” and its accompanying Mic On EP that features two more new songs, is a reminder that groups can continue together strong even as the individual parts grow and branch out as necessary.

Maluma Captures 22nd No. 1 on Latin Airplay Chart With ‘Junio’

Maluma celebrates his first No. 1 debut in almost six years on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart with the arrival of “Junio” atop the Oct. 15-dated ranking. While he’s scored 22 champs, he last debuted at No. 1 through his featured role in Shakira’s “Chantaje” in November 2016.

“Junio” storms in at No. 1 after its first official tracking week with 8.9 million in audience impressions earned in the week ending Oct. 9, according to Luminate. The track was released via Sony Music Latin/WK on Sept. 29 and performed live at the 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards that same night.

Related

“Junio” is the third song to debut at No. 1 on Latin Airplay in 2022, of the total 38 songs that have reached the top this year. Only one other Latin act has achieved the feat, Romeo Santos through two No. 1 debuts: “Sus Huellas” (Feb. 26-dated ranking) and “Sin Fin,” his first team-up with Justin Timberlake (list dated Sept. 17).

Among Maluma’s 22 champs, “Junio” marks his ninth win as a soloist, unaccompanied by any other act. He first earned a No. 1 on his own with “Borro Cassette” in 2015.

With 22 crowns on his account, Maluma ties with Wisin for the fifth-most overall since the chart launched in 1993. Let’s look at the scoreboard:

35, J Balvin
32, Enrique Iglesias
28, Ozuna
27, Daddy Yankee
22, Maluma
22, Wisin
20, Romeo Santos

Beyond its Latin Airplay coronation, “Junio” concurrently debuts at No. 1 on Latin Rhythm Airplay. It’s Maluma’s 19th ruler there and his first debut atop the ranking since “Chantaje” in 2016.

Further, the pop rhythmic “Junio,” also makes progress on Latin Pop Airplay, rallying 19-1 in its second week. It’s the biggest jump since 2007, when Juanes’ “Me Enamora” surged 23 rankings (24-1) also in its second week.

Elsewhere, “Junio” opens at No. 28 on the multi-metric Hot Latin Songs chart, which blends airplay, streams, and sales.

Lizzo Explains Decision to Change ‘Grrrls’ Lyrics: ‘Using a Slur Is Unauthentic to Me’

Four months after releasing “Grrrls,” Lizzo gave fans some context about her decision to change the song’s lyrics on Tuesday (Oct. 11).

The singer’s use of the ableist slur “sp-z” in the track’s original lyrics came up during her new cover story with Vanity Fair, in which she explained, “I’d never heard it used as a slur against disabled people, never ever. The music I make is in the business of feeling good and being authentic to me. Using a slur is unauthentic to me, but I did not know it was a slur.

“It’s a word I’ve heard a lot, especially in rap songs,” she continued, “and with my Black friends and in my Black circles: It means to go off, turn up. I used [it as a] verb, not as a noun or adjective. I used it in the way that it’s used in the Black community. The Internet brought it to my attention, but that wouldn’t [have been enough] to make me change something.”

However, another aspect of the controversy the “About Damn Time” singer didn’t expect was the backlash that came after she released a new version of the song, with one contingent of fans and media personalities like Charlamagne Tha God and Jerrod Carmichael arguing that artists should never bow to public pressure to change their art.

“Nina Simone changed lyrics — is she not an artist?” Lizzo countered. “Language changes generationally; Nina Simone said you cannot be an artist and not reflect the times. So am I not being an artist and reflecting the times and learning, listening to people, and making a conscious change in the way we treat language, and help people in the way we treat people in the future?”

During her sit-down with the magazine, the recent Emmy winner also opened up about how she handles racist and fatphobic comments on social media, her relationship with boyfriend Myke Wright and more.

Carrie Underwood Sets ‘Hate My Heart’ as Next Radio Single

Carrie Underwood is set to release her new single, “Hate My Heart,” to country radio, with the song officially impacting on Oct. 31. The song, written by Underwood with Hillary Lindsey, David Garcia and singer-songwriter HARDY, follows Underwood’s first single from her album Denim & Rhinestones, “Ghost Story,” which resides in the top 10 on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart.

“‘Hate My Heart’ was definitely part of my desire to have fun on this album,” Underwood said via a statement. “I wanted songs that would be exciting to perform live and would fill up an arena, and that’s exactly what we’re about to do with The Denim & Rhinestones Tour. This one is definitely going to get everyone up on their feet and having a good time. It was great writing ‘Hate My Heart’ with Hillary Lindsey and David Garcia, who I love collaborating with, and also getting to work with HARDY, who brought a cool vibe and an energy to the track.”

Underwood is up for three trophies at the CMA Awards on Nov. 9, including the coveted entertainer of the year honor, as well as female vocalist of the year, in addition to musical event of the year (for “If I Didn’t Love You” with Jason Aldean). She also launches her 43-city The Denim & Rhinestones Tour this weekend in Greenville, South Carolina, and will welcome opener Jimmie Allen.

Denim & Rhinestones follows Underwood’s 2018 country album Cry Pretty, as well as her first gospel album, 2021’s My Savior, and her first holiday album, 2020’s My Gift.

“I wanted to have fun from the get-go. That was definitely mission number one,” Underwood previously told Billboard about Denim & Rhinestones. “With some other albums, it took me writing for a while before I figured out where the album’s gonna go. It’s got a lot of vintage sparkle. It’s not solidly throwback, but we have a couple of songs that are a little more ’70s feel and some that are in the ’80s pop world and some ’90s rock stuff, and obviously country. But we wanted to have music that was fun and felt good.”

Kelly Clarkson & Sam Smith’s Kellyoke Duet Is a ‘Breakaway’ Smash: Watch

It’s a common occurrence for Kelly Clarkson to have guests on her eponymous talk show, but it’s certainly rare for another guest to join her for the show’s opening Kellyoke bit. Viewers of Tuesday’s (Oct. 11) episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show were treated to the former Voice coach performing a duet of her Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit “Breakaway” with fellow pop hitmaker Sam Smith.

Clarkson was first up to the plate for the new version of the track, tackling the emotive opening verse before Smith colored the track with their signature, rich tone. “Trying hard to reach out/ But when I tried to speak out/ Felt like no one could hear me/ Wanted to belong here/ But something felt so wrong here/ So I prayed (I would pray)/ I could break away,” they sang before joining Clarkson for the chorus, the duet portion of the track.

Clarkson took the higher portion of the duet, while Smith went low, singing, “I’ll spread my wings and I’ll learn how to fly/ I’ll do what it takes till I touch the sky/ And I’ll make a wish, take a chance, make a change/ And break away,” their voices melting together like honey.

“Breakaway,” the first single and title track from Clarkson’s 2004 album, was a hit for the American Idol alum, peaking at No. 6 on the Hot 100. The track spent a total of 46 weeks on the chart.

Smith was also Clarkson’s guest on the show, revealing on Clarkson’s couch that Ed Sheeran gifted him — as well as Elton John — “a six-foot-two marble penis … It’s two tons and I’ll have to get it craned into my house.”

Watch Clarkson and Smith team up for their duet of “Breakaway” below.
