Springfield Police are investigating after a person was hit and killed by a car while walking in Springfield Tuesday morning.
According to reports, the victim was travelling northbound along Republic Road at around 7:30 Tuesday morning when they were struck and killed by a car travelling eastbound near the intersection of Fremont Avenue.
The victim was alive when paramedics arrived, and was transported to a local hospital, where they later died of their injuries.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
