Three dead after Amtrak train collides with dump truck in Chariton County, northwest of Columbia

The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) says state troopers and numerous other agencies are responding to a train derailment near Chariton County’s Mendon, northwest of Columbia.

As Brian Hauswirth reports, State troopers say eight train cars have derailed after the Amtrak train collided with a dump truck. They say local and surrounding agencies are at the scene providing mutual aid assistance.
