Marshmello and Khalid debut at No. 4 on Billboard‘s multimetric Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart (dated June 25) with “Numb.” The top start for both acts, the song is Marshmello’s 13th top 10 and Khalid’s fourth.
“Numb” earned 4 million U.S. streams and sold nearly 1,000 downloads in its first week (June 10-16), according to Luminate. Concurrently, the track bows at No. 4 on both the Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs and Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales charts.
“Numb” is the long-awaited follow-up to the acts’ collab “Silence,” which led Hot Dance/Electronic Songs for a week in December 2017. Khalid’s sole leader, “Silence” served as Marshmello’s first of three No. 1s, ahead of “Wolves,” with Selena Gomez (11 weeks at No. 1, 2017-18), and “Happier,” with Bastille (69 weeks, 2018-19 – the record for the most weeks at No. 1 for any song in the chart’s nearly nine-and-a-half-year history).
On the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart, Lady Gaga’s Dawn of Chromatica returns at No. 2, following the repressing and replenishment of its vinyl stock. The remix set surged by 525% to 5,200 equivalent album units, with 4,800 from album sales, including 4,200 on vinyl. The placement is the highest for the release since it debuted at No. 1 in September 2021. It’s the third time that it has returned to Top Dance/Electronic Albums, following prior vinyl and CD reissues.
Shifting to the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, Irish DJ/producer Seamus D storms to his first top 10 with “Like That” (11-4). The track is drawing core-dance play on SiriusXM’s BPM, Music Choice’s Dance/EDM channel and WZFL (Revolution 93.5) Miami. (The Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart measures radio airplay on a select group of full-time dance stations, along with plays during mix shows on around 70 top 40-formatted reporters).
“Like” sports a prominent vocal sample of Rihanna’s 2016 dance, pop and R&B/hip-hop hit “Kiss It Better.”
Additionally on Dance/Mix Show Airplay, David Guetta achieves his 33rd top 10, Becky Hill adds her fifth and Ella Henderson earns her third with “Crazy What Love Can Do” (12-8). Guetta extends his lead for the most top 10s among all acts dating to the chart’s August 2003 inception; Rihanna is next with 24.
